Jesus and the Oral Law / A Christian Pentecost

Categories: ,

Jesus and the Oral Law – In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said not to think that He had come to abolish the Law, but a surprising number of Christians think He did. Jesus said heaven and earth would have to pass before even the smallest letter, or the least stroke of a pen would disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Was the oral law included? Have you heard that to determine which laws are still in effect, you have to know if it’s moral, ceremonial, or judicial law? You need to learn what the New Testament says about this to make sure you’re keeping the Law God wants you to in the right manner.

A Christian Pentecost – Did you know that Pentecost is actually a lot older than the church? Yet, most Christians think of Pentecost as the birthday of the New Testament. Considering what happened on Pentecost, aren’t you surprised that so many Christians know so little about the day? That the disciples were there observing Pentecost is beyond dispute. In fact, there were three pilgrimage festivals. Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles occur on specific date. No date is specified for Pentecost. So, how do you know when Pentecost has finally arrived? Doubtless, you want to please God, so this sermon can help you determine when to celebrate this festival. There is a curious thing about the Feast of Pentecost. It has three names. Do you know what they are? Better yet, do you know what meaning Pentecost has for you, and what future significance it has?
