This entry is part 6 of 33 in the series The Book of Genesis (Wes White)

One might wonder why it’s important for us to know the geneologies of the ancient peoples who lived before and after the flood.

But as we study these early chapters of Genesis, it’s important to remember that the entire Bible is the story of a man and his family who ultimately became the nation of Israel and how God worked with that nation.

The Book of Genesis sets the stage for what happens throughout the rest of the Bible and it provides the historical account of much of the lineage of Jesus Christ.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 KJ2000
