It seems that every age and every generation has it defining characteristic. It also seems to me that we are currently living in the generation of the lie. Just look at politics. If we find a man (or woman) who will tell us what we want to hear, truthfulness aside, we’ll vote for them.

But this program isn’t really about politics. It’s about making your life work. And in Proverbs 12:19 we come to a question of truth and lies that transcends politics that gets down to what makes your life work—and what can keep it from working.

The lip of truth shall be established forever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment. Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counselors of peace there is joy.
