This entry is part 1 of 8 in the series History & Prophecy

Some have said that prophecy is history written in advance. Well, that may not be altogether accurate, but it is accurate to say that your knowledge of history plays a very important role in your understanding of prophecy.

The Lord God of Israel mocked the false gods by saying this:

Tell us, you idols, what is going to happen. Tell us what the former things were, so that we may consider them and know their final outcome. Or declare to us the things to come, tell us what the future holds, so we may know that you are gods[.]

Isaiah 41:22–23 NIV

In other words, we need to have a good grasp of history if we want to have a good grasp of prophecy.

I’m Ronald Dart, and I hope you enjoy this study on History and Prophecy as much as I did putting it together.
