This entry is part 6 of 8 in the series Christians in Winter: How to Live in Hard Times

We are living in troubled times but, you know, it is a mark of how far we have come that we get in a panic at the prospect of living in what we call hard times. Your great-grandfather can tell you about hard times. The great depression was a time of 25% unemployment, and a lot people went to bed hungry in those days.

We have been living, for the past 50 years, in a fantasy world, and what is coming is a lot more like normal times—where people have to live within their means and avoid spending money they don’t have.

Harder times may be coming, and it may be good for Christian folks that they do. How could that be? And what kind of advice can be given to Christians living in times like ours?
