Teaching Kids the Bible at Home and in Church
What went wrong to bring Eric Harris and Dylan
Klebold to the point of shooting their own classmates at the Columbine High
School in 1999? One of the most popular myths is that these boys were from
dysfunctional families. But this is simply not true! Both boys had
parents who loved them, and siblings who turned out all right. To understand
the Columbine shootings and much that ails America today, “we must penetrate
the mystery of how non-abusive, ordinary parents can fail to produce
civilized offspring” so said Mona Charen, a syndicated columnist.
Major shifts have taken place in our society since the 60s. Church membership
carries no guarantee that your children won’t go wrong. The changes that have
taken place in our nation require parents to be much more proactive in teaching
spiritual truths and moral values – it requires dedicated vigilance! And Youth
Educational Adventures (YEA) stands ready to help you.
YEA has a passion to make a real
difference in the lives of your children and teenagers and is offering you another
tool. We’ve put together a most attractive and informative full color
28 page book chock-full of help for you. It is designed to not only support
parents, teachers, pastors, and churches in their efforts to produce civilized
offspring, but to ensure each one makes it into the Kingdom. Never before has
such a useful manual been written. The following is a partial list of things
you will learn and benefit from reading this manual. [Order

-
How this manual and the YEA Sabbath School books equip parents and teachers to
effectively teach children and teenagers God’s Word at home and in church.
-
An outline is detailed for all five age groups (3-5, 6-8, 9-11, 12-15, 16-19)
of what a child or teenager can do physically and emotionally with specific
information about reaching them at their particular level of learning.
-
As good as youth groups, summer camp, and other ancillary activities may be,
the dangers of young people falling in love with them rather than being
anchored to Christ is discussed.
-
The learning process is detailed with valuable information about improving
communication, making it applicable to the kids, and making learning about God
fun.
-
The YEA Sabbath School curriculum is explained in detail, helping parents and
teachers understand how to glean the most from it effectively and efficiently.
-
A time-line is laid out for class preparation, simplifying teaching for parents
and/or teachers. Everything is given from understanding the YEA format to how
to administer each class.
-
Three teaching methods are explained, giving their advantages and
disadvantages. How to change a class- room of bored, sleepy, rowdy,
disinterested kids into participants eager to learn is also discussed.
-
The most important thing may have been left to the end. All too often small
churches feel defeated and give up on having YEA classes. Gain strength and
encouragement as you learn what to do if you only have one or two children and
how to build the future today through teaching YEA.

The purpose of the YEA first
year’s Life of Christ curriculum is to introduce each student to the Father and
His Son, Jesus. This series takes you through the early life of Christ, His
miracles, and concludes with His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension.
The purpose of the second
year’s Creation Series is to introduce each child and teenager to God as
Creator. These lessons begin with the creation of the universe and everything
it contains. They record man’s rebellion and God’s judgement of the flood, and
the lives of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. The history of Israel becoming
enslaved in Egypt, God calling Moses to free them from bondage, and the 40
years of wilderness wanderings come alive to all ages groups.
The purpose of the Christian
Holyday Supplement is to introduce the students to the holy days of the Bible,
relating them to God’s overall plan for mankind. This special supplement
contains lessons teaching the meaning of the Passover and other festivals or
holy days taught in the Bible.
