Date: 6/22/2008 - 6/29/2008
Subject: YEA Summer Camp 2008
Description:

May 7, 2008

Attention All Teens,

It's still not to late to apply for Summer Camp. I know many of you have already started making plans for the summer and I hope you have left time open for camp. We have almost completed the planning for this year's camp activities and lessons and new staff! It's always easy to take camp for granted, but I know in years to come, as you look back, you will really appreciate all the knowledge you have gained, the friends you have made and all the memorable and fun times you had at camp.

Summer Camp for 2008 will once again be held at Camp Wewoka Woods, near Wewoka, Oklahoma. The dates for camp are Sunday, June 22 - Sunday, June 29. If you plan to fly, you will have to use the Tulsa airport. Please call before making your final reservations.

Summer Camp is open to all teens who have reached their thirteenth birthday by the time camp ends and who have not yet reached their nineteenth birthday before camp starts. Summer Camp is also open to all teens, regardless of their church affiliation or that of their parents.

We will once again have all the water programs we have had in previous years - the lake is in good condition right now - as well as continuing as many of the past activities as possible and adding something else new. We will continue to have many of the activities, such as volleyball and basketball, indoors, out of the heat, except for beach volleyball. And we will, of course, continue the very informative and successful Bible study periods.

If you know someone who you think would enjoy coming to camp, be sure to tell them to call, write or e-mail for an application. Please spread the word, so that all who want to attend will know about camp.

Camp Wewoka Woods raised our fee to $260.00 per camper last year, but the tuition fee will remain the same this year. I know this may be difficult for some of you, but we will have a limited scholarship fund to assist those who really want to come to camp and need help. This is not just a free give-a-way, you will have to provide some of the funds yourself, but we hope that any teen who really wants to come to camp, will not have to stay away because of a lack of finances.

Remember, we had to turn down applications the last couple of years due to applying late, so apply NOW! Be sure to return your application as soon as possible, but no later than May 12, 2008. A camp application is available for downloading at http://www.borntowin.net/ApplicationForm.pdf.

Sincerely,

Larry S. Watkins, Camp Director

WHY DO WE USE THE HEBREW CALENDAR?

"And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years" (Genesis 1:14-19).

Nothing God gave to man has been used so consistently for the purpose He intended. Every civilization of man has used the sun, the moon, or both for the demarcation of time. More...
