In this day and age of commercial farming, we can easily find ourselves not understanding the farming references Jesus commonly used. Jesus used agricultural terms and references such as the harvest, wheat, tares, chaff, etc. This sermon was given on the third sabbath of the seven sabbaths that lead up to Pentecost. To better understand the Feast of Pentecost, we need to familiarize ourselves with the culture of Jesus' day.
