Pearls From the Past - 2009 Feast of Tabernacles

Because you’ve asked, we’re offering a DVD of Youth Day, CDs, DVDs, and even an album of the sermons of the 2009 Feast of Tabernacles. These will help you ferret out a harvest of pearls you may have missed. If you were not blessed by attending the Feast with us you will want to order these outstanding CDs. If you were in Fort Walton Beach, repetition is a great learning tool and you will want these CDs as well. In these crucial times, a wise Christian will walk the extra mile to reinforce his knowledge and understanding of God, and what He is doing.

The Value of a Child, by Ronald L. Dart - By Jesus making himself completely vulnerable as an infant, he established the value of every child that comes into the world—for they are all precious. From the moment of conception, Jesus was precious. He became one of us, from the beginning to the end. He shared our dangers. Our vulnerabilities. Our weaknesses. He shared our life and our death. The world has managed to screw up and commercialize the celebration of the nativity of Jesus, and it is a pity. Jesus was like the babe in arms, the toddler, the teenager you see at the Feast. He had to go to school. You need to understand how the YEA program fits with this sermon—and with your child (CD-09F1C / DVD-09F1D).

What Are You Afraid of? by Ronald L. Dart - Are you afraid for your children, educationally, economically? Many are afraid of government. These are things Samuel told us all about when our ancestors insisted on having government fight their battles. How does the question of fear relate to this festival? The command to celebrate this festival holds the answer. Israel’s trip to enter the Promised Land should have taken two or three years, yet it took 40. Why? Because of fear! Often Israel preferred the safety of Egypt to the dangers of freedom. Fear causes you to back away from the edge of a precipice with a hundred foot drop. Life is never free of risk. If we never overcome fear and accept the risk, there is no way we can win (CD-09F2C / DVD-09F2D).

Capture the Vision, by John Reedy - Imagine what it was like taking over a million people out of Egypt. Imagine living as long as Methuselah. Imagine eternity where there is no beginning and no end. Consider the Kingdom of God—no one has been there except God the Father and Jesus Christ. These subjects are hard to grasp and comprehend. Our life’s afflictions are for a moment. Do you long for the Kingdom to come? This in-depth sermon about the Kingdom comes with a warning: You can’t expect to keep doing things as you always have and be in God’s Kingdom (CD-09F3C / DVD-09F3D).

Treasure the Moments, by Larry Watkins - As Christians we are to be striving for perfection in all areas of our life, including our marriages. Too many of us never focus on the relationships that are really important in life until tragedy strikes. Intimacy in a relationship is that feeling of closeness that derives from being able to truly savor the small moments we enjoy together in life. To build true intimacy in any relationship, but especially with our spouses, we must treasure these moments! (CD-09F4C / DVD-09F4D).

A Christian Paradox, by Jeff Osborn - A paradox is a statement that may seem contradictory, unbelievable, or absurd, but may be true in fact. This sermon explains how to reconcile such biblical paradoxes as working out your own salvation while saying we are saved by grace and not works. Are you working out your own salvation? You shoulder the responsibility of what you will be at Christ’s return. Our lights must shine before men. Others know that we love God if we love one another (CD-09F5C / DVD-09F5D).

Saving Generation Z, by Ronald L. Dart - The day President Obama announced removing the missile shield plans for Poland and Eastern Europe fell on the 70th anniversary of the Soviet occupation of Poland. This didn’t seem to cross his mind. Doubtless, the Polish people, especially the Lutherans, took notice. Their Bibles, prayer books, and liturgical works were confiscated as women with children were sent one way and men another. Refresh your memory on what they did to preserve their faith. If there is any hope for this country or this church, it lies with Generation Z.If Generation Z follows the pattern of previous generations and rebels against the slovenliness, the sluttiness, the ugliness of this generation, they might turn things around. Your own life may hang on what they do (CD-09F6C / DVD-09F6D).

A New Birth of Freedom, by Jim O’Brien - When people stop looking to God as the source of freedom, they are in danger of losing it. Freedom is a fundamental concept in the Bible, central to the Old and New Testament. George Washington could have been king, but set a precedent in this country of serving only two terms. The USA has three basic documents—the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Gettysburg Address—to guide our freedom. Some people are dedicated to destroying our freedom. Christ died that others might live and be free. Has Christianity lost the principles of freedom? (CD-09F7C / DVD-09F7D).

Youth Day DVD - You wanted it; now it’s available! The Youth Day service from CEM’s Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Feast site is available now on DVD. Get your copy of this inspirational service featuring the children, teenagers, and young adults. You’ll see and hear the combined voices of the children as three separate choirs sing praises to God, reflecting the exodus of the Children of Israel from Egypt. The highlight of the service was the Deliverance video starring several of the children along with a cast of thousands from The Ten Commandments movie. Make this inspiring video part of your library today (DVD-09F8D).

Romans 9-11, by Ronald L. Dart - We find answers to one of the most troubling aspects of God’s plan in celebrating the Last Great Day of the Feast. In a study of Paul’s writings, we learn that there is goodness and severity in God. It is God’s will that all men be saved. Then why do so many seem to end up lost—often as not, through no fault of their own—simply because they never heard the Gospel? People don’t like to think about this, but we should. This detailed explanation of these chapters deserves your thorough study again to understand God’s marvelous plan and His infinite mercy (CD-09F9C / DVD-09F9D).
